5 Tips to Improve Digestion

Why are you so Hangry?

While skipping lunch is no big deal for some, others suffer terrible symptoms of hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, when they've gone too long without eating- but why?
Hypoglycemia can result when the metabolize of carbohydrates does not maintain stable blood sugar levels.  Consumption of refined sugars and carbohydrates cause blood sugar to rise rapidly.  When blood sugar levels are above a normal range the pancreas secretes insulin to bring blood sugar down.  This rapid reduction in blood sugar can then create symptoms of hypoglycaemia.
Because glucose is the primary fuel for the brain, when levels are too low symptoms of headache, confusion, depression, anxiety, irritability, anger and other psychological disturbances can set in.

If this sounds familiar ensure quick and easy snacks are kept on hand before hunger sets in, avoid refined sugars and carbohydrates and include plenty of fiber, protein, and healthy fats in your diet to help regulate glucose metabolism.

THE ORGANIC EFFECT

“the system for risk assessing chemicals is suitable only for one substance at a time. There is, therefore, no approved method for making an overall assessment of the effect of multiple chemicals simultaneously, i.e. the possibility that chemicals interact with one another to give a stronger or weaker effect than they would have individually. This is commonly called the “combination effect” or popularly known as the “cocktail effect”….
Given how little we currently know about the combination effects of all the different chemical substances that people are exposed to in their day-to-day lives, it may be wise to apply a principle of caution in this regard.”
